After storm clean up in cemeteries from Hurricanes Matthew & Irma, I have noticed a distinct difference in the properties with a good maintenance plan and ones without. Those with a maintenance plan had a considerable smaller loss to their trees, while those without the maintenance plan needed to close for weeks’ worth of clean up to remove fallen and up-rooted trees. In this session I’ll provide an overview of proper tree maintenance techniques that all cemeteries can use as guide to mitigate tree damage during major storms.
